LA PLATA, Md. (WUSA) -- 9News  was first to break the story of a second newborn found in eight months in Southern Maryland.

The Charles County Sheriff's Offices say homeowners were cleaning out their attic when they made the gruesome discovery in the 9700 block of Royal Oak Dr. near La Plata Maryland.

Sources tell 9News' Surae Chinn the baby's body was stuffed in a suitcase in the attic and discovered on November 16th around noon.

Even more shocking, people close to the investigation say there's a possibility the mother who gave birth to this baby is the same woman whose newborn was found in the trunk of her car back in March.

In that case, the woman's parents were cleaning out her car that was parked in a mobile home park, in the 5400 block of Hallowing Point Road in Prince Frederick in Calvert County and discovered the fetus or newborn baby.

Sources also say the most recent fetus discovered could be older than the one found back in March.

The mother was not charged in that case.

The mother in question has three children. Sources say the woman has had a relationship with people at both homes, connecting her to both locations.

Detectives are waiting for autopsy results.
