BLADENSBURG, Md. (WUSA) -- A Bladensburg woman was killed on Monday night when she was struck by two vehicles while crossing Kenilworth Avenue. Police now say she was not in a crosswalk at the time.

The accident happened shortly before 7:30 p.m. in the 3800 block of Kenilworth Avenue. Mary Katherine Harding suffered life threatening injuries and was rushed to a hospital. She was later pronounced dead.

According to police, the preliminary investigation indicates that Harding tried to cross Kenilworth Avenue when she was struck by a gold Chrysler 300M and a white Nissan Altima. Police say Harding was not in a crosswalk.

Both drivers stayed at the scene and police say speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the accident.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Prince George's County Police Department's Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit at 301-731-4422 or Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).
