BETHESDA, Md. (WUSA) -- A Virginia woman is in custody after ramming her car into a police cruiser and attempting to run an officer over at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, say officials.

Montgomery County Police have identified the woman as 27-year-old Angela Akosua Cobbold of Manassas, Va. According to police, the incident began when Virgina State Police caught the driver on radar going 93 mph on I-66 at 11:25 p.m. Virginia police began chasing the black Mitsubishi but put a look out for her with Maryland authorities after Cobbold crossed the state line.

Police say Cobbold approached the Walter Reed entrance at about 11:50 a.m. and made a u-turn in front of the guard booth. She was trapped in traffic while trying to exit. Department of Defense police officers (DOD) approached her car and noticed Cobbold biting on what they believe was a bar of soap. When she noticed the officers she struck a vehicle and took off on Wisconsin Ave.

Cobbold eventually returned to Walter Reed. When a DOD officer noticed her, he stopped the vehicle but she refused to put down her window.  The officer then used his baton to break the rear driver's side window but Cobbold continued to refuse to roll down her window, Montgomery Police say.

When the officer broke the driver's side window, Cobbold backed up into the DOD cruiser, drove over the curb, across the sidewalk before taking off, police say.

Cobbold encountered another officer at the intersection of Wisconsin Ave. and the Walter Reed entrance gate. The officer fired one round at her car after she attempted to drive her car towards him, according to police.

Police say she began heading northbound on Wisconsin Ave. on the southbound lanes. Eventually she crashed into Nebel Street near Nicholson Lane in Bethesda.

Montgomery County police pursued the car, say NSAB officials. She was eventually arrested when her car crashed into Nebel Street near Nicholson Lane in Bethesda.

Sky 9 captured video of police pulling someone from the car and then take him or her into custody.

Police continue to investigate the incident.
