(WUSA9) -- TMZ reports that famous chef Paula Deen has been dumped by Smithfield following a discrimination lawsuit filed against her. Deen had a line of hams with the company.
According to TMZ, the company gave this reason, "Smithfield condemns the use of offensive and discriminatory language and behavior of any kind." Then it says it is terminating its partnership with the chef.
Deen was questioned in May about the lawsuit, admitting that she had used the N-word in the past but insisting she and her family don't tolerate prejudice. Word of the lawsuit got out, causing a buzz on social media. The soon-to-be former Food Network star was a no-show to the Today show three days ago when she was scheduled to talk about the lawsuit, but we are told she will appear on the show on Wednesday.
Hours after she made videotaped apologies for the use of racial slurs the Food Network announced it would not renew her contract when it ends this month.
