WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- George Washington University officials say the Tony Award winning musician Cyndi Lauper will headline the George Washington University Alumni Weekend 2013.
The winner of the 2013 Tony Award for Best Original Score for "Kinky Boots," and "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun," "Time After Time" and "True Colors" singer will perform at the Charles E. Smith Center on Friday, Sept. 27, at 8 p.m., say officials. The concert is open to GW alumni and their guests who are registered for Alumni Weekend. Registration starts in July, say officials.
According to officials, Lauper's visit will happen during her "She's So Unusual Tour" which begins this summer and marks the 30th anniversary of her debut album of the same name. Officials say she will play the album in its entirety each night.
