(USA TODAY) -- Behind the Candlebra, HBO's tale of the love between Liberace and Scott Thorson, heads to Cannes before premiering May 26.
The film stars Michael Douglas as the famed Vegas performer and Matt Damon as his young lover.
It's a moving, loving, at times very funny portrayal of a romance gone very awry.
And it features quite a few intimate moments between Douglas and Damon.
To prep, Douglas made sure his pucker was as soft as possible.
"I didn't want any whisker burns on the poor guy," says Douglas of kissing Damon.
So, what was his secret lip product? "You should ask my makeup artist. It was in a fancy tin jar," says Douglas.
Adds Damon: "I insisted on it. It was in my contract. You really should ask me about it,"
