A man was shot in the 1400 block of Jonquil Street NW at approximately 10:15 p.m. Thursday

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Six shootings occurred overnight in D.C., one in Southeast, four in Northwest and one in NE.

Police say a man was shot in the stomach near the Exxon in the 3900 bock of Pennsylvania Avenue SE at approximately 3 a.m. Friday. He was conscious when he was transported to the hospital, according to a spokesperson. Eastbound Pennsylvania Avenue was blocked between 40th Street and Ft. Davis St. for some time. Police say the suspects' descriptions were vague: two black men wearing masks, one of them wearing a dark blue shirt. They are still looking for the suspects.

Thursday night, there were three shooting in Northwest. The first occurred at 8:53 p.m. at 14th and Riggs Place NW, say police. A man was shot in the leg and transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to police. The suspect was described as a black male wearing a black shirt and black jeans.

Another man was shot in the 1400 block of Jonquil Street NW at approximately 10:15 p.m., say police. He was transported with life threatening injuries to the hospital, according to police. The suspect was described as a black male in his twenties, 6'0" tall, with a slim build and dreads. Police say he could be driving a silver SUV with unknown MA tags with the partial number 8883.

At 11:33 p.m. a juvenile was shot in the buttocks in the 1200 block of Rock Creek Ford Road NW, say police. Police tell us he was transported to the hospital in non-life threatening condition. There was no suspect description available.

At 11:36 p.m., a shooting was reported in the 5300 block of Dix Street NW. Police say they found an adult male on the scene suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in his lower extremities. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

Metro police are also investigating a homicide in the 1900 block of 3rd Street NE, officials said. Police received a call for an unconscious person around 8:23 a.m. Friday. Paramedics arrived on the scene, where the victim, who suffered a gunshot wound, was pronounced dead. Police say this is now an active homicide investigation.
