WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- A DC pediatrician has been charged with child pornography.
Officers found more than a dozen disturbing images of children in Dr. Robert Dickey's possession, according to a DC Police detective's court statement.
The department received an online tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) last month. With that information officials were able to issue a subpoena for Dr. Dickey's IP address, the document stated.
After an investigation, DC police served a search warrant at the pediatrician's office on Wednesday, which he runs out of his home in Southeast D.C.
Police documents describe what they found when the property was searched:
Within the residence is a pediatrician's office including two exam rooms. The office appeared dirty, cluttered, and unkempt. The defendant was scheduled to see approximately 20 patients today. When officers arrived the defendant was inside his personal office within the pediatric office. Officers observed that the defendant had been viewing a website with child pornography and child erotica on the desktop computer when they entered the office.
During the search, officers also learned that Dr. Dickey lives with his two grandsons - an infant and a 9-year-old.
The document stated that the pediatrician confessed during the search that he "visits child pornography sites, downloads pornography and stores it on an external hard drive."
