WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Police in D.C. say they have identified the body found Monday in the Anacostia River.
They say Arlester Jay of Prince George's County, Md. was found dead in the water near 1900 Anacostia Drive SE on Monday afternoon.
The cause of Jay's death remains under investigation.
An article by the Washington Post says that Jay was an Iraq war veteran, who was reported missing in March (http://wapo.st/10vnYBS). According to the Post, Jay's sister went to his apartment to help his estranged girlfriend move out and found that Jay and his car were missing. His father told the Post that his son was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PSD) and addicted to drugs and alcohol.
