WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Teachers, administrators, and parents at McKinley Technology High School in Northeast D.C. came together for an emergency meeting Tuesday night.
The topic, the recent arrest of one of their teachers. D.C. Police say they arrested science teacher John Solano after they found evidence that he had been electronically exchanging sexually explicit photos of himself with his students.
Investigators claim he sent those photos to some of his male students and received the same from them. He was charged with production of child pornography last week.
At Tuesday's closed door meeting parents and school officials discussed ways to avoid allegations like these in the future.
Darlene Hale, the mother of a senior at the school, said they spoke about hanging the way teachers and students communicate after school hours.
"Well they just talked about certain things they are going to put in place now so the children won't have direct contact with the teachers through email," Hale said. "So they are going to CC the parents and then the students."
As for Solano he is still behind bars and is due in court again on March 20th.
