WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- An armed robbery at a convenience store is caught on surveillance video.
It happened at the M&Z convenience store in the 3000 block of Naylor Road in Southeast DC around 8:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Abdul Kodir had just opened up the family business when two men wearing dark clothing and their faces covered rushed the store.
One crook came in waving a gun. The other entered with a red backpack.
Abdul says the gunman ordered him to get down on the ground. In the surveillance video you can see the gunman pointing the gun at Abdul as he runs away.
The two men then go behind the register making their demands.
Abdul's cousin opens up the register for them.
"They ask where the other money is, she said I don't have no more," Abdul recalls.
The men take what's in the cash register and cartons of cigarettes.
The owner was in the process of making upgrades to their security system, adding surveillance cameras, bullet proof glass at the register, and were just waiting for a door to be installed. All of these additions and precautions are being made because they had been robbed before, last December.
Abdul says he doesn't believe the same men hit him twice. But he says he comes to work, hears the familiar door open and close, not knowing if his life will be threatened again.
"I'm a little bit nervous, I'm okay now," Abdul said.
Police continue to investigate this case, no arrests have been made.
