WASHINGTON, D.C. (WUSA) -  Four 17-year- olds were charged Monday with armed robbery for their alleged roles in events leading to the Nov. 17 murder of Olijawon Emmanuel Griffin at the Woodley Park Metro station, according to police.

The teenagers -- Tyrell Smith, Immanuel Swann, Deon Jefferson and Gary Maye -- are charged as adults.

Three are charged with the armed robbery of Griffin near a gas station in the 1800 block of Adams Mill Road NW, less than a mile from the Metro station.

The fourth is charged with the armed robbery of another victim on the lower platform of the Woodley Park Metro station. That crime immediately preceded the murder of Mr. Griffin.

The defendants are likely to appear in court on Tuesday.

A fifth defendant, Chavez Myers, was charged as an adult last week with the murder of  Griffin.
