WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- The Red Line was delayed Thursday morning because of a fluid leak from maintenance equipment near Union Station, officials said.
The leak was reported at 5:40 a.m., with fluid going onto the track between Judiciary Square and Rhode Island during maintenance.
Single tracking between Judiciary Square and Rhode Island Ave caused delays in both directions and crowding on some platforms.
Single tracking ended just before 9 a.m., but delays continued in both directions.
Some Red Line trains heading downtown offloaded at Farragut North. During the morning Metro suggested Metrobus as an option for going downtown.
