Rescue at Montgomery Co. Safeway, worker injured

BETHESDA, Md. (WUSA9) -- A contractor was injured while working on a roof in Montgomery County, officials said.

It happened around 9:22 Friday morning at the Safeway located in the 5000 block of Bradley Boulevard.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue responded to a report of an injured person on the roof, according to Captain Oscar Garcia.

A large air conditioning compressor fell and injured the worker's leg.

Additional units were requested for help rescuing the worker, officials said.

No customers were injured and the store remained open.
