Green Bay, WI (Sports Network) - The Green Bay Packers have added a veteran quarterback to back up Aaron Rodgers, signing Seneca Wallace on Monday.

Graham Harrell had spent the past three seasons as Rodgers' understudy and was released last week, appearing to pave the way for Vince Young to inherit the position. Young, however, was surprisingly released as part of Green Bay's final cuts on Saturday.

That left B.J. Coleman as the only other quarterback on the roster. Coleman was released Monday to make room for Wallace.

Wallace did not play last season after being cut by Cleveland and was in camps with New Orleans and San Francisco this summer. He last suited up during the regular season in 2011 with the Browns, when he started three games and appeared in three others.

The 33-year-old Iowa State product also started four games for the Browns in 2010 after spending seven seasons with Seattle. He has completed 59.2 percent of his passes for 4,808 yards with 31 touchdowns and 18 interceptions in 62 NFL games, 21 of which have been starts.
