COLLEGE PARK, Md. (WUSA9) - A Montgomery County motorcyclist was killed Thursday night after getting into a crash with a car on I-495 at I-95.
Richards Edward Taylor III, 34, of Silver Spring was pronounced dead on the scene, say police. Police say that Taylor's motorcycle hit the back of a car that was driven by 25-year-old Adrien Dane McDonald of Bethesda. McDonald was not injured in the crash.
Police say the preliminary investigation shows that shortly after 10:30 p.m. Thursday Taylor was traveling on the inner loop of I-495 at I-95 at a very high speed. The motorcycle, a 2006 Suzuki Hayabusa, then hit the car, a 2010 Hyundai Sonata. Taylor reportedly lost control and hit a concrete barrier.
Police say troopers had to close two eastbound lanes of I-495 for about five hours.
The crash investigation continues.
