ROCKVILLE, Md. (WUSA9/AP) - After a meeting on Tuesday, Montgomery County and Metro are no closer to agreeing on the best way to fix the Silver Spring Transit Center.
The center has been delayed due to construction problems. Last week, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority questioned the remediation plans that are being considered.
The county wants to push forward with repairs, which have already started. Metro officials want to spend more money on tests to make sure the building is structurally sound.
The project is already more than two years behind schedule and tens of millions of dollars over budget. Neither side has an estimate as to when this project will be complete.
