ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md. (WUSA9) -- An official with the U.S. Army Garrison Public Affairs Office at the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland says crews there, along with Harford County Emergency Personnel, recovered the body of a male in waters next to the Atkisson Dam near Abington on Sunday afternoon.
The body was found Sunday at approximately 4:40 p.m., says the official.
The official says the identity of the male is unknown at this time and the incident is under investigation.
The official tells us Atkisson Dam was built during World War II to provide a reservoir of water for Aberdeen Proving Ground.
