PASADENA, Md. (WUSA9) -- A bicyclist died after being struck by a dump on Wednesday at about 3:05 p.m., police say.
According to Anne Arundel County Police, the bicyclist was was traveling west on Berrywood Drive and failed to stop at the intersection with Baltimore Annapolis Blvd.
As the bicyclist entered the intersection he was struck by a dump truck traveling north on Baltimore Annapolis Blvd.
"The driver of the dump truck attempted to avoid striking the bicyclist but was unable to," police said.
Police said preliminary investigations indicate that neither speed nor alcohol appear to be a factor in the crash. The Traffic Safety Section is still investigating this case.
