WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- DC Police arrested a woman after assaulting a Metro bus driver twice, police said.

The woman first got on the bus at Gallery Place on Wednesday at about 8 p.m. and hit the driver as she boarded, DC Police said.

The woman assaulted the driver again while he was still driving, before she got off the bus in the 3400 block of Benning Rd NE, police said.

According to police, the driver hit the passenger on the left side of her face after being assaulted the second time.

DC Police arrested the woman on Benning Road but charges are still pending.

Both the passenger and driver suffered non-life threatening injures. Police are trying to determine why the woman assaulted the driver and why the driver continued on his trip after the first assault, police said.
