Downtown Street Closures for Rolling Thunder Events This Memorial Day Weekend

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) - Streets downtown will be closed for Rolling Thunder events this Memorial Day weekend.

Here are the details per DDOT: 


  • For the Annual Thunder Rally, 22nd Street N.W. between C St. and Constitution Ave. will shut down for the Annual Thunder Alley from 9 a.m.- 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, as well as 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday.
  • The Rolling Thunder Rally will take place Sunday. Constitution Avenue between 15th & 23rd Streets N.W. and Independence Avenue from 14th to 23rd Sts. S.W. will lose starting at 6 a.m. The route will begin at the Pentagon and end at a staging area near the Korean Memorial. 
  • The National Memorial Day Parade goes from 2 p.m.- 5 p.m. Monday. It starts at 7th St N.W. and Constitution and ends at 23rd St. 

The closure times and locations are subject to change. Heavy pedestrian traffic is anticipated.
