OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) - Funeral services were held in Owings Mills for a volunteer firefighter who died after being injured in a fire at a Reisterstown home.
Twenty-five-year-old Gene Kirchner of the Reisterstown Volunteer Fire Co. died Thursday at Shock Trauma in Baltimore.
Funeral services were held Sunday at Har Sinai Congregation in Owings Mills. More than 100 people also lined the streets to pay their respects as Kirchner's hearse passed by.
The volunteer firefighter was injured while responding to an April 24 home fire. Baltimore County officials have said there was no sign of foul play in the fire, but the cause remains under investigation.
