(WUSA9) -- Severe thunderstorms with potential wind gusts of 60-70 mph hit the DC area Friday evening.
The worse weather was expected in the bay area, southern Maryland and eastern shore until 8:30 p.m., WUSA9 Meteorologist Howard Bernstein said.
Several areas have seen minor damage due to the excessive wind.
A tornado warning was issued at around 7:05 for southern Maryland but the warning expired 15 minutes later.
There is no word any tornado touched down.
