BEL ALTON, Md. (WUSA9) -- On Monday, police released the names of two people who died early Sunday morning on Crain Highway in Bel Alton as the result of a car crash.
According to police, 22-year-old Desiree Angel Osvatics of Cobb Island, Md. was driving her Hyundai south in the northbound lanes of Crain Highway and was struck head-on by a Dodge Caravan that was heading north in 9100 block. The Caravan driver, 32-year-old Tornelle Prentice Williams of Baltimore, was pronounced dead at the scenem say police.
Osvatics was ejected from her car, say police. She was transported to Civista Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
Investigators don't know why Osvatics was traveling on the wrong side of the highway and would like to hear from anyone who was traveling near La Plata through Bel Alton before the crash. If you have any information, then please call Cpl. B. Saunders of the Traffic Operations Unit at 301-609-6225.
