WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- DC Police identified the 16-year-old who was fatally shot overnight on Sunday.
Police say the shooting happened at about 12:37 p.m. on the 2700 block of Langston Place in Southeast. When police arrived at the scene after reports of a shooting they found the teen, later identified as Darius Cannon, suffering from a gunshot wound.
DC Fire and EMS transported Cannon to a nearby hospital where he died due to his injures, police said.
A preliminary lookout was for a dark-complected male between 16 to 19 years of age, wearing a plaid vest and blue jeans, police said.
