Police: Two Charged After Following Tip From Facebook

Columbia, Md. (WUSA9) -- Two people have been charged on multiple counts of theft and credit card fraud following a Facebook tip, which led to the identification of the suspects, says Howard County Police.

According to police, Stephanie Nicole Stuart, 25, and Craig Kenneth England, 40, were charged in connection with an investigation involving two credit cards which had been stolen in February from an employee's purse in the Johns Hopkins Medical Building.

A police investigation revealed both cards were used later that same day at stores in Columbia and Ellicott City including Target, Kohl's, Lowe's, Office Depot, Game Stop and Advanced Auto Parts, says police.

Surveillance video helped the police identify the suspects at many of the locations.

Police say Stuart was charged with eight counts of theft, one count of conspiracy to commit theft and six counts of credit card fraud while England was charged with eight counts of theft, one count of conspiracy to commit theft and four counts of credit card fraud.
