WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Twenty-one-year-old Syanne Centeno talks to Anita Brikman at the WUSA9 studio about growing up with bullying.

Bullying began for Centeno at the age of eight when she moved from the U.S. Virgin Islands to a school in California.

"I was physically hit, punched, called names you would think only adults would call each other," she said.

The attacks at such a young age caused Centeno to feel awkward and really different. At 9-years-old she developed anorexia that have caused her to deal with health issues later on in life.

She later moved to La Plata, Md. where she lives today.

Watch the interview to see how she overcame the bullying and depression.
