TAKOMA PARK, Md. (WUSA9) -- A man was arrested at a pawn shop in Takoma Park after he allegedly stole property from an auto parts store, say police.

Thirty-three-year-old John Jay Senior IV of Upper Marlboro, Md. was charged for theft less than $1,000.

On the afternoon of March 18, Takoma Park Police say Senior walked into the Advance Auto Parts store in the 6300 block of New Hampshire Avenue, took property and fled out the front door without paying.

An employee described the man who stole property to officers, say police, and indicated that the man might be across the street at a pawn shop. Police say they found Senior at the shop and arrested him.

The property was returned to Advanced Auto Parts, say police.
