WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Two men have been reported missing after last being seen in a boat in the waters off the Eastern Shore of Maryland Wednesday morning.

The Coast Guard did rescue one man located on a life raft approximately 15 miles east of Assateague Island but for a storm that many call a dud, there's always some who may argue it left it's mark.

You can blame almost 50 mile-an-hour winds for knocking a tractor trailer off its course, and almost off the westbound side of Maryland's Chesapeake Bay Bridge. The driver escaped with minor injuries.

In Silver Spring, a huge tree cracked, then crushed an SUV on Newcastle Avenue, also on Wednesday afternoon. Emergency crews took the woman driving it to the hospital. She is said to be ok, and just shaken up. The tree also crushed a nearby unoccupied car.

Later Wednesday evening, a snow plow driver found himself in a scary situation, when the back of his plow caught on an overpass on I-270, and sheared off. The road was closed while crews tried to figure out how to extricate the cab of the truck. The snow plow driver was not hurt. He told WUSA9 he had been awake since the storm's early hours at 2 a.m.

In District Heights, high winds, and wet grounds caused a tree to slice through a house on District Avenue, causing a family to run for safety. Curtis Jeter was downstairs when the tree fell into his family's kitchen, where his mom was cooking, "Everybody's OK now, but the feeling we had then was just terrifying. My mother was upstairs actually cooking, inside the kitchen where the tree came through."

Firefighters came to put out a small fire in that kitchen, and help the family, Jeter explains, "They brought us some coats from inside the house, everyone came out with what they were wearing, no coats, some of us, no shoes."

The family is staying with relatives tonight, but no doubt it will be a while before they forget this storm.
