FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. (WUSA9) -- Wednesday morning, WUSA 9's Scott Broom reported from Frederick County on the road conditions there.
He started at the rest stop on top of South Mountain, which has an elevation of 1200 feet. His dash camera showed that it was snowing steadily. According to Broom, the snow is heavy and wet, which could be an issue for power lines, trees and roadway.
A picnic table on South Mountain was covered with approximately 4 to 5 inches, according to Broom's estimation.
Truckers have reported difficult conditions on the road heading further west towards Pennsylvania. Here, the temperature is hanging at 32 degrees, says Broom, and roads are at "slush stage."
