BALTIMORE, Md. (WUSA 9) -- Less than a month after winning Super Bowl XLVII, and being named the MVP, Joe Flacco is set to become the highest-paid player in NFL history.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Ravens will pay Flacco $120.6 million over the next six years.

According to a tweet on the Ravens' twitter account, General Manager Ozzie Newsome says, the "Ravens, Flacco have parameters of a deal completed. Still have some language and details to work out."

Flacco and the Ravens are expected to meet Monday to finalize, and sign the deal.

The NFL's deadline for franchise tag designation is 4 pm on Monday.

By avoiding the franchise tag designation the Ravens avoid an approximately $19.5 million salary cap hit with the exclusive tag. The Ravens also avoid an even worse scenario, potentially losing Flacco to another team if they place a non-exclusive franchise tag on him.

Joe Flacco is only quarterback in NFL history to win at least one playoff game in his first five seasons. Flacco also owns an NFL record six playoff road wins as a starting quarterback.

As recently as the start of the playoffs, the debate raged on as to whether or not Flacco is an elite quarterback. Now, he's going to get paid like one.
