MIDDLETOWN, Md. (WUSA9) --  Frederick County Sheriff's Office say a Middletown man was arrested on Sunday night after a call for a possible drunk driver.

According to authorities, 27-year-old Ryan P. Kline was charged with Attempting to Elude Police by Failing to Stop a Motor Vehicle, Attempting to Elude Police by Fleeing on Foot, Reckless Driving, Negligent Driving and other traffic violations after a deputy saw his car speeding, not stopping at stop signs and then hit a concrete runway.

Authorities say at approximately 7:35 p.m., Emergency Communications broadcast a lookout for a possible drunk driver in the Middletown area. A black Nissan Versa was spotted speeding on Schoolhouse Road and failing to stop at stop signs, say authorities. A deputy tried to stop the car on Franklin Street, but it continued speeding to N. Jefferson Street near W. Main Street according to authorities. The car then reportedly went off the roadway and struck a raised concrete walkway.

The driver, later identified as Kline, got out of the car and ran to his home on Main Street, say authorities. He was found on Washington Street, say authorities.

Kline was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital for treatment before being taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center, according to authorities.
