Taylor Farms Retail Recalls Spinach in 39 States Because of Possible E.coli Bacteria Contamination

WASHINGTON,DC (WUSA9)--Taylor Farms Inc. recalled spinach in 39 states, including Maryland and Virgina, because of a possible E.coli contamination. As of now, there are no confirmed cases of illness from consumption of the spinach.

Organic spinach in 5-ounce or 16-ounce salad trays that have the "best by" date of Feb. 24, 2013, with any of these brand names are being recalled: Central Market Organics, Full Circle Organics, Marketside Organic, Simple Truth Organic and Taylor Farms Organic.

This past November, there were 16 cases of E.coli from contaminated spinach in New York City, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland and Massachusetts. Symptoms of E.Coli include dehydration, bloody diarrhea, and in more severe instances, failure of the kidneys.
