Brian Keith Whitaker of Southeast Washington, D.C. Charged In Relation To Burglary, Shooting At Deputy's Home In Fort Washington, Md.

FORT WASHINGTON, Md. (WUSA) -- Prince George's County police have arrested man in connection with the burglary of an Alexandria deputy's home in Fort Washington.

Twenty-three-year-old Brian Keith Whitaker of Southeast Washington, D.C. admitted his involvement in the burglary, say police. He is charged with first degree breaking and entering and related charges. 

Whitaker is being held on a $73,500 bond.

Twenty-year-old Jon Adgrain Pocknett of Indian Head was shot and killed by an off-duty Alexandria deputy at the deputy's home in the 8400 block of Rose Marie Drive on Feb. 12. The deputy told police he had just returned home when he interrupted a burglary. The deputy told police that he was confronted by a man, later identified as Pocknett, who he shot and killed. 

Police say detectives also learned that a handgun had been stolen during the burglary and it was recovered.
