WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- A survey by the NRF's Retail Advertising and Marketing Association shows fans will spend nearly $12.3 billion on the Super Bowl, a little over $68 per person.

Three quarters will spend cash on snacks and beverages.

An analysis by finance Website, Nerd Wallet, finds one party staple will really take a bite out of your budget.

"It looks like the biggest hit to your budget really will be coming from chicken wings, actually.  They're going to be up about 15 to 20 percent in terms of prices from last year's Super Bowl, from the 2012 Super Bowl. That's mostly because of the demand and the drought," says Matthew Ong.

According to Nerd Wallet's analysis, beer prices have ticked up only slightly over the last few years.

More than 7.5 million households are expected to buy a new TV before the big game, compared with 5.1 million last year.

And deal seekers may be in luck.

Retail Analyst Ong says, "You're actually going to find pretty good prices for those big HDTVs which is a little counterintuitive because demand is up, but there are a couple of other factors driving that as well."

Those factors, a combination of typically lean January sales and stores clearing shelves for new models.

And nearly 60 million participants surveyed by the National Retail Federation say they will go to a Super Bowl party while 39 million plan to host one.
