Officials Investigate 4-Alarm Fire In Cambridge, Md.

DORCHESTER COUNTY, Md. (WUSA) -- Fire Marshals are currently investigating an overnight four-alarm fire at an apartment building located at 507 Race Street in Cambridge, Dorchester County, Md.

Officials say the blaze caused multiple people to jump from windows of the three-story apartment building to safety.

The blaze took nearly 100 firefighters and less than two hours to bring the fire under control. Two firefighters were treated for stress related injuries at Dorchester General Hospital and released.

Officials say the apartment building contained a clothing store on the first floor with four apartments on the 2nd floor and four apartments on the 3rd floor, and that five of the eight apartments were occupied at the time of the fire.

Acording to fire officials, 21 victims were taken to Dorchester Hospital, Peninsula Regional Medical Center, and R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for varied non life-threatening injuries.
