WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- Ford says its redesigned 2013 Fusion Hybrid vehicle gets 47 miles to the gallon in the city, on the highway and combined.
But, Consumer Reports says that mileage didn't come close when it took it for a real-world mileage test.
"We measured 35 miles per gallon in city driving, 41 highway and 39 overall. That's good fuel economy, but it's far short of the 47 MPG that Ford is claiming," says Rik Paul.
Consumer Reports' test of the Ford C-Max found similar discrepencies in its fuel efficiency and notified Ford of it's findings.
Ford says some drivers of its C-Max and Fusion Hybrids have told the company that they have gotten more than 47 mailes per gallon.
And, that driving styles and other factors can cause mileage to vary.
