SPRINGFIELD, Va. (WUSA) -- Dozens of car windows were shot out with a b.b. gun or a pellet gun, in Fairfax County neighborhoods, police said.

The surveillance video above shows the suspect minivan driving by another SUV, stopping and backing up, then you see the SUV's window explode from some kind of shot fired from the minivan.

The shootings took place in the past week, as recently as Thursday, November 29, in the Newington Forest and Terra Grande neighborhoods, in Springfield, between the hours of 1 a.m. and 3 a.m., police said.

"In most of the incidents, the vehicles are empty; however in at least one of the cases, the vehicle was occupied. The suspect vehicle is reportedly a silver Honda CRV. Detectives indicate that the rear windows of minivans or SUVs appear to be targeted by the suspects.," police said in a news release.
