16-Year-Old Seriously Injured In Hit And Run In Alexandria, Va.

FAIRFAX, Va. (WUSA) -- Police are searching for the driver responsible for a hit and run accident that left a 16-year-old boy with serious injuries, Fairfax County Police said on Sunday.

The incident took place on Friday at about 7 p.m. at the intersection of Telegraph Road and Broadmoor Street in Alexandria, Va. According to police, a red minivan was driving south on Telegraph Rd. and merged to the left lane to make a left turn to Broadmoor St.

The victim was at the intersection in front of Hayfield Secondary School when witnesses say the van hit the boy and drove off, according to police.

The teen was transported to a local hospital with serious but non life- threatening injures.
