Paul Joseph Arrested And Charged For Using A Counterfeit Check

FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA) -- Frederick Police arrested 27-year-old Paul Joseph after trying to use a fraudulent check, police said.

On Nov. 13 at about 11:30 a.m. police officers arrived at Browns Liquors in the 900 block of East Patrick Street for reports of a fraudulent check. A store clerk approached one of the officers and informed that he suspect who handed over the fraudulent check was still in the store, police said. 

According to police, the officer spoke with the suspect, later identified as Joseph, and confirmed that the check was fraudulent with the originating company.

Joseph, of Emmitsburg, Md., was arrested and charged with possession of counterfeit document and uttering counterfeiting document.
