SAVAGE, Md. (WUSA) -- Howard County Emergency Management Department officials say a leak at Little Patuxent Water Reclamation Plant in Savage, Md. is sending out 2 million gallons of raw sewage per hour.

The overflow is due to a power loss, according to officials. Crews are still working to restore power.

There are no mandatory evacuations but residents are asked to avoid the Little Patuxent River south of Rt. 32.

The Little Patuxent Water Reclamation Plant serves the central part of Howard County, including the towns of Columbia, Savage, and North Laurel.
