ROCKVILLE, Md. (WUSA) -- A school bus was involved in an accident with another vehicle at Wootton Parkway and Hurley Avenue in Rockville on Friday morning. The bus was headed to Fallsmeade Elementary School, say Montgomery County school officials.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue officials say that crews were called at 8:39 a.m. to respond to the scene. Crews are transporting four students to the hospital for checkups. Thirty seven kids were on the bus, say school officials, but only four reported not feeling well. One man who suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries is being taken to a local trauma center.
A school official reported that the driver apparently had a medical condition, passed out at the wheel and hit the school bus. Montgomery County fire officials later confirmed that the driver of the other vehicle had a medical condition and hit the bus head-on.
The remaining 33 students were transported on another bus to school. There, they will be checked by school health officials and counselors.
