(WUSA) -- Six out of ten consumers are unhappy with their financial institutions but there are hidden gems out there.

A new list from Money Magazine names the best banks with perks like easy-to-avoid fees and good interest rates.

Number one on the list is US Bank -- the fourth biggest bank in the country. It has more than 3,000 branches in 25 states. US Bank was voted TOPS for basic, senior and student checking accounts.  It also has a relatively-low direct deposit amount to bypass the minimum-balance requirement . The bank also ranked number one for employee professionalism in another survey.

In the number two spot is TD Bank. It has more than 1200 branches in 15 states. The bank offers great rewards if you keep a certain minimum in your account.  Customers pay NO out-of-network ATM fees or foreign transaction fees on debits. Another perk is that the branches are open late.

Huntington Bank is a mid-sized regional bank with branches in West Virginia. It has free checking accounts and a money market account that pays 0.65% -- well above average.

Number four is First Citizens Bank -- another midsize-regional bank with more than 420 branches across the country, including our area. Perks include free, basic checking, and low minimum balances for more souped-up accounts.

Rounding out the top 5 is midsize regional bank M&T Bank. It offers free checking and waives out of network ATM fees for some.
