WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- You know him for playing heroes on the silver screen. Now, actor and philanthropist Lou Diamond Phillips is shooting his third season of a show that highlights real-life military heroes.
Lou joined us on Wednesday morning to talk about "an Officer And A Movie" and his work with the Wounded Warriors project.
See our interview with him above.
Lou is here because his new movie is screening at the AFI in Silver Spring on Thursday night. He won a Best Actor award already for "Filly Brown," which was shown at Sundance.
Lou was also nominated for a Tony for his role on Broadway in The King and I. We asked if he'd sing us something and he obliged (see the video).
