Driver Seriously Injured In Loudoun County Parkway Crash

SOUTH RIDING, Va. (WUSA) -- Wednesday afternoon, a driver was airlifted from the scene of a two-vehicle crash at Loudoun County Parkway and Center Street in South Riding, Va. Authorities say the 45-year-old Aldie woman was listed in critical condition at Inova Fairfax Hospital that day.

The crash involved a 2005 Ford Freestyle SUV that was westbound on Center Street, and a 2005 Chevy Express Cargo Van that was northbound on Loudoun County Parkway. The injured woman was driving the SUV with two children in the car. They were not injured in the crash.

The driver of the van, a 38-year-old man from Haymarket, also was not injured in the crash.

Authorities continue to investigate the collision.
