WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- Subaru is recalling nearly 200,000 Legacy and Outback models.

The Japanese automaker says the motor in the windshield wiper of some 2010 and 2011 cars may overheat, melt the casing and catch fire.

The motor failure can also reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash.

Owners can call Subaru at 800-782-2783 or the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration's vehicle safety hotline at 888-327-4236 for more information.

Subaru dealers will replace the wiper motor starting in November.

The company says it will notify owners.

It seems Toyota's legal battles are not quite over.

A federal judge has tentatively decided not to dismiss the first of hundreds of lawsuits filed against the automaker for sudden acceleration.

Toyota recalled 14 million vehicles due to acceleration problems and brake defects.

The first trail is slated to start sometime next year.

Sprint Nextel hopes Apple's new iPhone 5 will snag some new customers for the company.

The wireless provider says it will offer an unlimited data plan for the much anticipated device starting next month.

The advantage for Sprint, it will be the only wireless carrier to offer a flat-fee unlimited data plan for the popular phone.

And whether it's an iPhone, Android or Blackberry, cell phones have become the preferred mode of communication for today's young kids.

Tomorrow on 9 News Now at 5, we'll tell parents what they need to know before they buy their tween or teen their first mobile phone.
