WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Washington Animal Rescue Leauge has a new pet of the week: Yankee Doodle.
Yankee Doodle is feeling just dandy these days, thanks to the love and care he's been receiving at the Washington Animal Rescue League.
This 7-year-old Shih Tzu mix was found as a stray, suffering from a burn wound on his back. Despite being in considerable pain, this brave little guy was the model patient, readily allowing medical staff to handle and treat him without complaint.
Now that his wound is almost completely healed, Yankee is ready for an adult home where he'll be pampered and treated.
Yankee likes toys, taking walks, and playing with other dogs, although-despite his small size-he can be a bit pushy with them. In fact, the only thing he doesn't like is being interrupted while eating or enjoying a snack.
