WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA9)--  Local fitness dynamo Laurent Amzallag has created a rapid-fire workout series aimed at burning fat, tightening and toning, especially when time is of the essence. He shares it with WUSA9's health correspondent Anita Brikman, just in time for the official start of summer.

"Could you look better for a bikini in a few days or in a few weeks? The answer is yes. But your workouts will have to be that much more intense and your diet will have to that much tighter," says Laurent Amzallag, the creator of YaLa Fitness.

Intense 30-second intervals are the key to Amzallag's resilience, or bikini, workout. At Sports Club LA in downtown DC, he first demonstrated a warm up of side reaches that target the inner thighs.

It is areally hard area to get, so if you can get that stretch, your legs are going to be  leaner and longer and its going to look great in a bikini," says Amzallag. 

He then rapidly moves the workout to the floor, and a series of exercises that use small hand towels. They include "mountain climbs" on the towels, push ups with feet on the towels or on the knees, and core slides on the towels.

The potential to slip and slide on the towels forces the participant to engage core muscles even more during the workout, which wraps up with explosive lunges with a weight above the shoulders.

All  the exercises should be done for 30 seconds each without a break.  At the end of the segment, recommends Amzallag, take a 15 second break and do it again on the other side.

Amzallag also recommends avoiding 3 bigger meals a day, and eating 6 smaller servings at regular intervals to boost metabolism.
