Share Our Strength 25th Annual Taste Of The Nation Event On Monday Benefits Fight Against Childhood Hunger

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- More than 70 of the region's finest chefs, restaurants and mixologists are participating in the Share Our Strength 25th Annual Taste Of The Nation event. Money from the culinary event will be used to help fight childhood hunger.

The event is scheduled for Monday, April 8 from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at the National Building Museum. Tickets are still available, but almost sold out. There are about 50 tickets left for the general admission on Monday. (Click here to buy tickets: With your ticket, you will be able to sample all the food from the top restaurants.

Chef Nick told us that it wasn't hard to convince the chefs to participate, "I think this is one of the things as a chef we deal with a lot. combating childhood hunger. It's one of the issues we make a stride in and really effect because we're around food all the time. It's really something that we can really help and push forward."

Nick also told us one in five kids across the country combat childhood hunger and one in three in the D.C. area. So childhood hunger is more prominent here

The local area food banks and Mary's Kitchen will benefit from the proceeds of the event.
