DC Martin Luther King Jr National Memorial Marks 1 Year Anniversary

WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Tuesday is the one year anniversary of the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial opening to the public in D.C. 

Since August 28, 2011 millions of people have visited the memorial.

Tuesday night, a special program will feature remarks by the CEO of the DC Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial Project Foundation and others. After the program, the film "The Long Walk Home" will be shown for free to the public.

If you're interested in attending, the program starts at 7 p.m. at the memorial located at 1964 Independence Avenue, SW in Washington. It is expected to last until 9 p.m.
